DAVAO CITY – The Regional Oversight Committee for Drug Clearing on Thursday (Dec. 16) declared nine barangays in the municipality of Magsaysay as drug-cleared after thorough deliberation of required documents.

The drug-cleared barangays are: New Ilocos, San Isidro, Maibo, New Opon, Kanapolo, Blocon, Malawanit, Glamang and Lower Bala.

The deliberation and declaration of the ROCDC-XI, chaired by PDEA XI Regional Director Aileen Tan Lovitos, was held on the same day at the Almendras Hall of the Davao del Sur Coliseum in Digos City.

The local government of Magsaysay mentioned on its official Facebook page that Brgy. Tacul has also applied for drug clearing but is still waiting for clearance from the PDEA Central Office.

It was hoped that said barangay can catch up on the scheduled virtual deliberation on Dec. 22, 2021.

The LGU Magsaysay Facebook post said that the members of the deliberation team were all praises on the document preparation, face value, and the contents itself, describing them as almost perfect.

The ROCDC-XI deliberation team was composed of PDEA-XI, Department of Health (DOH-XI), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG-XI) and Philippine National Police.

The social media post also expressed a congratulatory note to Magsaysay Mayor Arthur Davin, DILG Magsaysay team, members of the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC), barangay captains and barangay secretaries. (PIA-XI/Carina L. Cayon) – bny
