91-M COVID-19 doses administered as of Dec. 6

By Pearl Gumapos

The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday (Dec. 6) said the total number of doses administered in the country hiked up to 91,777,433 since the three-day national vaccination drive.

The total of first doses administered is at 73.50% or 56,700,480, while complete doses are at a total of 38,168,603 or 49.48%.

The target population is 77,139,058.

During the three-day inoculation drive, 8,090,078 doses were administered. The number of doses administered will jump to 9,937,827 if the ones that were done until the Dec. 3 extension are to be included.

The average daily accomplishment during the National Vaccination Days was 2,696,693.

Meanwhile, there has also been an improvement in case trends.

DOH Sec. Francisco Duque III said that the average daily attack rate and two-week growth rate have both gone down.

“Ang buong bansa ay nasa minimal risk ang classification. Samantala ang buong Pilipinas ay nakapagtala ng -87% two-week growth rate and .67 average daily attack rate per 100,000,” Duque said during the President’s weekly address to the nation.

However, Duque said that improving case trends should not entail complacency since the threat of COVID-19 is still present.

“Pinapaalalahanan namin ang lahat na patuloy mag-ingat at huwag magpakampante. Kinakailangan pa rin ang mask, hugas, iwas, at, of course, ang pagbabakuna,” Duque said.

“To prevent the spread of COVID-19 or its variants, let us remember to practice the minimum public health standards such as wearing of face mask and shield, physical distancing, regular washing of hands, ensuring there is enough airflow when inside enclosed space, and to get vaccinated against COVID-19,” Duque said.

Duque said that local government units (LGUs) must also continue active case finding to immediately detect and isolate cases and investigate case clusters, thus further cutting the transmission of COVID-19 and ramping up the coverage, especially among the high-risk group such as senior citizens and those with underlying conditions. – bny
