CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A total of 911 new police officers in Central Luzon have completed their six-month field training program aimed at equipping them with knowledge, attitude, skills and values vital to the efficient performance of their duties and responsibilities.
The new police officers, all with ranks of police officer 1 (PO1), are composed of 222 females and 689 males who belong to Public Safety Field Training Program (PSFTP) Class 2017-01, called “Lakan Tikas.”
Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus, regional director of the Police Regional Office-3 (Central Luzon), said that the new police officers immersed in the different police stations in the region during their six-month training to gain first-hand experience in the fields of investigation, intelligence, operation, traffic and patrol.
“And now, as you continue on your next journey, the rest is up to you. Your career and what you will become after you graduate and begin to perform your duties of serving and protecting the people relies greatly on how you carry yourself as a law enforcer and as a human being,” Corpus said during the simple ceremony held at the PRO3 Post Grandstand here on Wednesday.
“In your entire police career, there is only one rule and procedure, one lesson and it is very simple. Know what is right and what is wrong. If you do insist on what is wrong, think first of what will happen to you and your family and loved ones when you get caught. Never falter or gamble, do what is right and work from the heart and you will never fail,” he said.
Chief Supt. Dionard Carlos, director of the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP), was also present during the event as some 206 police officers will soon to be members of the PNP-AVSEGROUP.
The new PO1s are set to undergo the police orientation course (POC) to further prepare them to function as police officers, particularly in the field of operations. (PNA)
