OWWA chief confirms Ignacio’s resignation

MANILA — The head of Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) on Tuesday confirmed that OWWA Deputy Administrator Arnell Ignacio has resigned.

OWWA chief Hans Leo Cacdac said the former television host has submitted his resignation letter which has yet to be officially accepted by President Rodrigo Duterte.

“DA Arnell turned in his resignation letter, which is subject to acceptance by the Office of the President as appointing authority,” he said in a statement.

“The letter cited personal reasons for the resignation,” Cacdac added.

The President appointed Ignacio to the OWWA post in 2018.

Ignacio also served as assistant vice president for community relations and services at the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.
