SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique — The Antique Harvest Fair that will formally open here Wednesday will promote various products of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in the province.

Rhoda Pon-an, director of the Antique Development Foundation, Inc. (ADFI), said they have invited 20 MSME exhibitors from all over the province to participate in the fair at the Robinson’s Mall Antique.

The event, which will run until March 26, is in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Antique provincial government.

“We also invite Antiqueños to come visit the display of products at Robinson’s Mall and patronize it to help the MSMEs,” Pon-an said.

She said that among the local producers that would display and sell their hand-woven fabrics is the Bagtason Loom Weavers Association from Bugasong town.

“There will also be the MSMEs from the municipality of Tibiao that would display their abaca fiber textile and the coffee makers from Sibalom,”she said.

The fair is one of the activities lined up for the culmination of the Women’s Month celebration in Antique that began in the province last March 4.

The opening program will be graced by senators Cynthia Villar and Loren Legarda.

The two senators, who have assisted numerous MSMEs in the country, are expected to help promote and provide necessary assistance to the local producers of Antique.

The opening will be held simultaneously with the one-day jobs fair by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the provincial government and the Department of Labor and Employment at the Binirayan Gymnasium.

Last March 8, the provincial government also conducted medical-dental services to 100 indigent women, together with other services delivered by national government agencies.
