MANILA — American diving legend Greg Louganis will be heading to El Nido in Palawan to lead the officiating crew in the first leg of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series on April 12-13.

Judging the event in the first seasons, Louganis was promoted to sports director in 2017 as he now oversees the operations of the event, in which divers will perform their routines at a cliff nearly thrice as high as the maximum Olympic height.

“I am honored to be back this year on the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series. I look forward to another exciting year,” he said on Tuesday.

Louganis won four gold medals for the United States in the 1984 and 1988 Olympics, ruling the springboard and platform events.

Prior to these feats, he also won the FINA World Championships from 1979 to 1982, and he was named the greatest American diver of all-time.
