MANILA — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Oscar Albayalde and Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar on Monday led the ground-breaking rites of the five-story multipurpose carpark building which will soon rise inside Camp Crame.

The facility, located at the northwest corner of the PNP headquarters, is expected to solve parking woes of personnel and PNP clients transacting business in Camp Crame.

PNP Engineering Service director, Brig. Gen. Elmer Cabreros, said the building was designed by the DPWH Bureau of Design, while cost estimates were provided by DPWH Bureau of Construction. The contract to build the structure was awarded to R.U. Aquino Construction.

The building will have a total floor area of 11,750 square meters that can accommodate 176 parking slots, 12 multipurpose function halls, drivers’ lounge, concessionaire spaces, pavilion and roof deck, 32 comfort rooms; vehicle ramp, four ground floor PWD ramps, two passenger elevators, three staircases and an administration office.
