KIDAPAWAN CITY — The city government here on Wednesday warned that more business establishments found to be remiss in their obligation to acquire working permits will be shut down.
Initially, the local government issued a closure order to some 40 business establishments here for their failure to secure business permits.
“The closure order was issued by Mayor (Joseph) Evangelista after a team found these establishments to be operating without the necessary permits,” said lawyer Christopher Cabelin, Kidapawan City legal counsel.
Cabelin said, however, that despite the closure order, the city remained “business friendly”.
“All the business people have to do is to simply follow and obey what the Local Government Code requires,” he said.
Cabelin said owners and operators of establishments have been given ample time to comply with the necessary permits from the city engineering office, fire safety permit, sanitary permit and the use of closed-circuit television security cameras in their businesses.
“Some failed to comply with these basic requirements, thus the closure order,” he said.
The closure orders were issued to food establishments, schools, department stores, hotels, internet shops, and several local radio stations.
