MANILA — Operations of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Lines 1 and 2 will be shut down from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday.

In its advisory on Wednesday, the Department of Transportation said the LRT Line 1 and Line 2 will have no operations from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday with regular operations resuming on April 22.

The LRT 1 will have operating hours from Roosevelt Avenue in Quezon City to Baclaran in Parañaque City from 4:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. and vice-versa from 4:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Holy Monday (April 15) to Holy Wednesday (April 17).

On the other hand, LRT 2 will have operating hours from Santolan in Pasig City to Recto, Manila from 4:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Manila to Pasig from 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from Holy Monday (April 15) to Holy Wednesday (April 17).

Earlier, the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) advised passengers that it will have no operations for the entire Holy Week, from Holy Monday to Easter Sunday, to give way for its maintenance works.

The preventive and maintenance activities would include the replacement of critical turnouts or switches, rail grinding, structural testing, topographic survey and monitoring activities for MRT-3 structures.

The MRT will also resume regular operations on Monday, April 22.
