OCD boosts ‘Bida Ang Handa’ campaign for 3rd Quarter NSED

QUEZON CITY, Sept. 15 — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) through the Regional DRRM Councils will hold the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on 21 September 2017, Thursday, 2PM. The ceremonial venue will be at Strike Gymnasium, Bacoor City, Cavite.

In line with this, OCD rolls out the “Bida ang Handa” campaign which generally aims to promote disaster preparedness through public’s participation in the NSED. The main goal of the activity is to gather the maximum number of commitments via social media.

The main activity of the campaign involves the government, non-government, private, academe and media sectors as well as other stakeholders by generating a photo and/or video with the fan sign or spoken statement: “Mag-da-Duck, Cover and Hold kami sa September 21, 2PM, dahil bida ang handa!”

Individuals and groups are encouraged post their videos on social media featuring preparedness measures to promote disaster preparedness at all levels. #BidaAngHanda is the official hashtag for this year’s NSED. | PIA
