Public Hearing held to address increasing random killing incidents

TRECE MARTIRES, Cavite Sept. 14 (PIA) — The provincial government of Cavite (PGC) seriously takes the matter of the increasing number of random shooting incidents done by riding-in-tandem suspects which has recently thrived and sowed fear among the people of the province.

Governor Jesus Crispin Remulla, head of the Cavite Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) held a meeting with the members of the council to discuss counter measures to address these acts of violence and terrorism.

He assured everyone that these incidents are being investigated and authorities are after the culprits and ordered the Cavite Police Provincial Office (CPPO) headed by Senior Superintendent Arthur Velasco Bisnar to further intensify security through police visibility and check points in key areas of the province.

Gov. Remulla also disclosed that persons of interests are now in police custody and progress for the pursuit of the suspects will be divulged as soon as correct and validated information are obtained from the investigation.

In relation to the said events, PGC proposed to implement the “open face” helmet policy and imposing a speed limit on motorcycles as security measures to counter act said terror plots.

These proposals are under review for immediate approval to be passed as ordinances with the Sangguniang Panlalawigan sessions.

A public consultation regarding the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) on Unified Vehicular Reduction System also known as Number Coding of Cavite was also given way during the council meeting. (GG/Ruel Francisco, PIA-Cavite with reports from Go Cavite)
