PBA to hold 4 twin bills per week in Comm Cup elims

MANILA — To give Gilas Pilipinas more time to prepare for the FIBA World Cup, the Philippine Basketball Association has moved to hold regular Saturday doubleheaders for the Commissioner’s Cup.

In the elimination round schedule, which was released on Wednesday, the league will hold twin bills four times per week every Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

However, there will be two instances where only one game will be played on a Saturday.

On June 29, Magnolia will take on Meralco at the Vitaliano Agan Coliseum in Zamboanga City.

Then on July 13, the last Saturday of the elims, Rain Or Shine battles San Miguel at the Xavier University Gym in Cagayan de Oro.

The conference will begin on May 19 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay as Blackwater will finally bring in second overall draft pick Ray-Ray Parks against Meralco, while Alaska takes on Columbian in the other toss-up.
