KCC brings South Korean docu fest to PH on May 14-15

MANILA — The Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) has announced the staging of South Korean documentary film festival, the DMZ International Documentary (DMZ Docs), at the University of the Philippines Film Institute in Quezon City on May 14-15.

Launched in 2019, DMZ Docs showcases films dealing with peace, coexistence and reconciliation.

“The documentaries reflect the different windows of the world which will make people discover new perspectives and touch deeply the natural environment of people,” said KCC in a statement.

Six documentaries, including two Filipino films, will be showcased for free.

A director’s talk is also scheduled on both days. “Family in the Bubble” director Ma Min-ji Yun will grace the event on May 14, while directors Janus Victoria and Martika Escobar of “Encounters with Silence” and “Quadrilaterals” films will give a talk on May 15.

“Call Her Ganda” film producer Kara Magsanoc-Alikpala will also give a talk on May 15.

May 14

2 p.m. : Old Marine Boy

4 p.m. : Myeoneuri: My Son’s Crazy Wife

6 p.m. : Family in the Bubble

May 15

1 p.m. : Coming to You, Minu

4 p.m. : Encounters with Silence, Quadrilaterals

6 p.m. : Call Her Ganda
