ILOILO CITY — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan’s (SP) committee on appropriations said it already received the itemized 20 percent development fund of the province.

The committee, for some time, has been waiting for the breakdown to finally pass the PHP3.7-billion proposed budget of the province, Dorothy Paes, the appropriations committee head, said in an interview Monday.

“We already have the breakdown of the 20 percent development fund that we were asking for,” Paes said shortly after the meeting with the local finance committee.

Paes said she will deliver her committee report during the SP session on Friday as the finalized copy of the four-paged fund breakdown will be submitted to the appropriations committee on Tuesday.

Given the schedule, Paes estimated that the budget of the province will be passed on June 4.

“Since the start, it was the breakdown of the 20 percent development fund that we waited for. That was the cause of the delay of the passage of the budget,” she said.

Paes said she will also check with the local finance committee the edited budget for it to be reported in the session on Friday.

On April 30, the appropriations committee said it edited the province’s proposed budget.

The committee made revisions for the Capital Outlay of the Office of the Governor, Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Public Information and Community Affairs Office (PICAO), and Hospital Management Office.
