PRRD reappoints Mon Tulfo as Special Envoy to China

MANILA — President Rodrigo Duterte has reappointed broadcaster and newspaper columnist Ramon Tulfo Jr. as Special Envoy for Public Diplomacy of the President to China.

Tulfo was first appointed as special envoy in October 2018. His reappointment paper was signed on May 27, 2019 with the copy released to reporters on Tuesday (May 28).

Tulfo will hold the post for another six months.

Duterte also appointed Claire Dennis Sioson Mapa as National Statistician of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) at the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

Her appointment paper was also signed on May 27, 2019 that was also released on Tuesday. She will serve for a term of five years.

Meanwhile, Malacañang also released the appointment paper of new Supreme Court (SC) Associate Justice Henri Jean Paul Balinghasay Inting.

Duterte signed Inting’s appointment paper on February 22, 2019 and a copy the document was released on Tuesday.

Inting replaces Associate Justice Lucas Bersamin, who was appointed Chief Justice in November 2018.

Inting served as corporate attorney in the National Housing Authority (NHA); public attorney at the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO); and assistant Quezon City public prosecutor, before being appointed as Metropolitan Trial Court and subsequently Regional Trial Court judge.

He was appointed to the CA in October 2012.
