MANILA — Supreme Court Associate Justice Henri Jean Paul B. Inting on Wednesday took his oath of office as the latest member of the High Court.

Inting took his oath before Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin.

His appointment completes the roster of the 15-member High Tribunal and will serve the Supreme Court until his mandatory retirement age of 70 on Sept. 4, 2027, the SC said in a statement.

Likewise present in the ceremony were Court of Appeals (CA) Division chairpersons, Associate Justices Ramon R. Garcia, Ramon M. Bato, Jr., Fernanda Lampas-Peralta, and Remedios A. Salazar-Fernando, CA Presiding Justice Romeo Barza, SC Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio, and SC Associate Justices Mariano Del Castillo, Estela Perlas-Bernabe, Marvic Leonen, Andres Reyes Jr., Jose Reyes, and Amy Lazaro-Javier.

Inting is the eighth appointee of President Rodrigo Duterte to the High Court.

The President has earlier appointed seven justices to the SC, including Lazaro-Javier, Noel Tijam, Samuel Martires, Alexander Gesmundo, Andres Reyes Jr., Jose Reyes and Rosmari Carandang.

Tijam retired from the service in January while Martires was appointed Ombudsman in July 2018.
