Bloodletting drive marks Cardinal Tagle’s birthday

MANILA — The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila (RCAM) on Tuesday asked for blood donations in celebration of the 62nd birthday of Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle on Friday.

“The Human Resource Department of the Archbishop of Manila once again appeals to you and your relatives and friends, to donate blood on June 21, 2019, to commemorate the 62nd birthday of our Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle, D.D.,” Rev. Fr. Sanny de Claro, Director of Human Resource Department said in a letter addressed to employees, seminaries, dormitories, and parish personnel of the Archdiocese of Manila.

The bloodletting drive called “RCAM Celebrating Life Year XII – a Birthday Gift to our Archbishop.”

The annual event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the fourth floor of Arzobispado building in Intramuros.

The event is in coordination with the Philippine National Red Cross.

The bloodletting event started in 2007 by then Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, who retired in 2011. He was succeeded by Tagle.

The activity has been held annually coinciding with the birthday celebration of the head of the Archdiocese of Manila.
