Southwest monsoon to bring rains Thursday

MANILA — Tropical depression “Dodong” has exited the country but the southwest monsoon will continue to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the western section of Luzon and Visayas.

In its 4 a.m. weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said monsoon rains are expected over Metro Manila, Zambales, Pampanga, Bataan, Tarlac, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro, Palawan.

Ilocos region, Visayas, the rest of Central Luzon, Mimaropa and Calabarzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorm.

PAGASA also advised the public, especially those residing in areas prone to flooding and landslides, to continue monitoring for updates and take precautionary measures. (
