Joint QCPD, PRO 1 police personnel arrest wanted former Dingras, Ilocos Norte Mayor

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Brigadier General Joselito T Esquivel Jr announced the arrest of former Dingras, Ilocos Norte Mayor in connection with the ambush of Dingras Mayor-elect Joefrey Saguid and Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Robert Castro sometime in December 2008 and the killing of INEC Director and President Lorenzo Rey Ruiz, by joint elements of Eastwood Police Station (PS 12) under PLTCOL Romulus Gadaoni and the Regional Intelligence Division (RID) of Police Regional Office 1 (PRO 1) Ilocos yesterday in Quezon City.

PBGEN Esquivel Jr said, former Dingras Mayor Marynette Gamboa, 55 y/o, businesswoman, native of Brgy. Saludares, Dingras, Ilocos Norte and presently resident of Brgy. Commonwealth was arrested at around 1:00 PM, June 28, 2019, at Unit 27G Olympic Heights Tower 1, Eastwood, Brgy. Bagumbayan.

The police operatives served a warrant of arrest against the former Mayor with criminal case No. 469318, issued by Hon. Felix G Salvador with no bail recommended after she was implicated as mastermind in the ambush of Dingras Mayor-elect Joefrey Saguid and SP Robert Castro and the killing of INEC Director and President Lorenzo Rey Ruiz, of Brgy. Madamba, Dingras, Ilocos Norte.

Meanwhile, five (5) other wanted persons were arrested by virtue of warrant of arrests by other units of QCPD.

Talipapa Police Station (PS 3) under PLTCOL Alex Alberto arrested Mark Cajayon, 37 y/o, of Brgy. Culiat, at about 12:00 PM, June 28, 2019, for violation of RA 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse Exploitation and Discrimination Act, with criminal case No. R-QZN-19041113-CR, issued by Hon. Judge Fernando Sagun, RTC, Branch 78, QC. The suspect applied for police clearance at PS 3 Clearance Section and was found out to have an existing criminal case. The bail was set at Php72,000.00.

Novaliches Police Station (PS 4) under PLTCOL Rossel Cejas arrested Franklin Bernales Sr., alias Bobot, 46 y/o, of Brgy. Sta. Monica, Novaliches, at about 11:45 AM, June 28, 2019, at Forest Hill Drive corner Jamaica St., Brgy. Sta. Monica, Novaliches, for frustrated murder, issued by Hon. Judge Madonna Echiverri, RTC, Branch 80, QC with criminal case No. R-QZN-17-09154-CR. Bail set at Php200,000.00.

Batasan Police Station (PS 6) under PLTCOL Joel Villanueva arrested Ma. Kris Calindas Daniel, 27 y/o, of Brgy. Bagong Silangan, at about 7:00 PM, June 28, 2019, at No. 48 Oriole St. Area 3, Brgy. Bagong Silangan, for unjust vexation, with criminal case No. 35-19-04453 issued by Hon. Sinah P Maximo-Uy, Assisting Judge, MTC, Branch 35, QC, with bail set to Php3,000.00.

Also, PS 6 arrested Jomel Montenegro, 18 y/o, of Brgy. Payatas A, at about 8:00 PM, June 28, 2019, at No. 042 Alley 2, Phase 3. Lower Everlasting, Payatas A, for robbery, with criminal case No. R-QZN-1904111-CR, issued by Hon. Eleuterio Bathan, Presiding Judge, RTC, Branch 92, QC.

District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB) under PLTCOL Rodrigo Bauto arrested Mark Lester Ang, 26 y/o, of Brgy. Bagong Pag-asa, at about 8:45 AM, June 28, 2019, at Basketball Covered Court located along Sitio San Roque, Brgy. Bagong Pag-asa, for murder issued by Presiding Judge Rosanna Fe Romero-Maglaya, RTC, Branch 88, QC, with criminal case No. R-QZN-1904761-CR.

The courts of origin will be notified on the arrest of the wanted persons.
