Lacson on Faeldon: I’m really obsessed to pin him down

MANILA — Senator Panfilo Lacson on Monday said that he is definitely “obsessed” with proving that there is indeed corruption in the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and that former Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon was involved in it.

Lacson made this remark after Faeldon claimed that the senator’s effort to pin him down has reached a certain level of obsession.

“I’m really obsessed because he’s been challenging me. I’m really obsessed to pin him down and prove there’s corruption and he’s involved in corruption. He said it right,” Lacson told reporters in an interview.

Lacson said he has been speaking to a lot of sources about Faeldon being included in a so-called “tara list” or list of names of BOC personnel that received bribes.

He said Faeldon is merely being “a hypocrite” by denying he received any bribes.

“The others I talked to, they were providing me documents. It’s only Faeldon, one and only, na nabanggit sa listahan na nag-challenge pa. Saksakan ng yabang, saksakan ng ipokrito (Faeldon is the only person named on the list who wanted to challenge it. He’s arrogant and hypocritical),” Lacson said.

Lacson said he is currently analyzing documents and gathering evidence to file as many cases against Faeldon based on the evidence he has gathered.

Lacson earlier delivered a privilege speech where he exposed corruption at the BOC and alleged that Faeldon was among the personnel who received bribes.

Faeldon, who strongly denied Lacson’s allegations, filed an ethics complaint against the senator for engaging in unethical and improper conduct by claiming the former is corrupt. (PNA)
