Visiting the famed Vayang Rolling Hills is now easier as the Department of Public Works and Highways – Batanes District Engineering Office (DPWH-BDEO) recently completed its road upgrading project leading to the island’s favorite tourist spot.

With a contract amount of P34.9 million pesos, the road stretch was improved from gravel to road in order to make the site more accessible and conducive for the locals and the tourists.

“The Vayang Rolling Hills is one of the most recognizable tourist destinations here in the province. This road upgrading project will ensure faster and smoother travelling experience for the public,” District Engineer Rommel E. Fabi said.

“This will also help reduce dust pollution and ensure immediate delivery of basic services to the residents living near the area,” he added.

The Vayang Rolling Hills is one of the famous landmarks in the province of Batanes. Its seemingly endless waves of rolling hills combined with the spectacular seascapes are a sight to behold. It also offers a spectacular view of the West Philippine Sea. | DPWH
