Persons behind the improper disposal of pig carcasses face raps

Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary William Dar warned that backyard raisers who have been disposing hog carcasses irresponsibly shall not be tolerated. The DA reminded them about the proper procedure of using stun guns, incineration, field burning, and the combination of burning and burying pigs infected with the African Swine Fever (ASF) should be followed. The improper disposal of dead pigs in rivers and other bodies of water has caused the spread of pathogens much faster. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has conducted a water quality test to check signs of contamination.
