New AFP Chief Clement to focus on insurgency

Lt. Gen. Noel Clement took his post as the new Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines on September 24, replacing retired Gen. Benjamin Madrigal Jr. In his speech, Clement committed to ending armed insurgency in the country and promised that the AFP remains professional, non-partisan and a staunch supporter of human rights under his watch. For his part, Madrigal has expressed his trust that Clement will perform his duty well. He also thanked all those who trusted in him during his tenure.
