Today, the Department of Justice (DOJ) hands over the finalized list of Good Conduct Time Allowance (GCTA) Law-freed cons to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). Said convicts have failed to surrendered to authorities notwithstanding Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s call for their surrender. The Philippine National Police begins to pursue the fugitives tomorrow. The list has undergone careful deliberation by the DOJ’s oversight committee to verify the names of the non-compliant persons deprived of liberty. The list contained 1,914 GCTA-released heinous criminals but 2,221 actually responded to the Chief Executive’s ultimatum.
