Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is headed for Russia today upon Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invitation. Pres. Duterte’s first stop will be in Sochi where he will join other world leaders at the Valdai Forum followed by a bilateral meeting with Pres. Putin where various Philippine-Russia agreements are expected to be inked. After his itinerary in Sochi, he will go to Moscow to participate in a Philippine-Russia Business Forum where he will seek to enhance trade and investments between the two countries. Finally, he will meet with the Filipino community in Russia. The visit ends on 05 October 2019.
