Pork traders bewail the slump of their businesses as consumers opt not to eat pork. Cagayan de Oro 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez blames this on the misconceptions on African Swine Fever (ASF). The Department of Agriculture reiterates that the swine disease does not affect humans. The DA will put signages in markets to assure consumers that the meat delivered there has passed through the National Meat Inspection Service. The government urges the public to help out in stopping the spread of the hog disease by reporting pigs that are sick and avoiding the transportation of ill ones.
