Lower House to review K to 12 Program

The Lower House of Congress is set to review the Department of Education’s K to 12 Program to determine whether it has been effective or not. House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano reminded that the K to 12 Program was implemented to provide options for high school students to take vocational or technical courses. However, some schools lack ample equipment to teach students how to become electricians and mechanics. Also, most high school students have failed in the National Achievement Examinations. Some companies would rather hire college degree holders over K to 12 graduates, Cayetano added.
