141 distressed OFWs from UAE are back

141 undocumented Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Abu Dhabi and Dubai have returned to the Philippines after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) rescued them. Most of these migrant workers did not receive their proper wages, while some of them were locked up in their employer’s houses. According to the DFA, this is the 4th batch of mass OFW repatriation this month.

Meanwhile, the DFA, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) are offering assistance to OFWs to file cases against suspects involved in human trafficking.
