NDRRMC poised for approaching Tisoy; PNP keeps an eye on SEA Games safety

The Natural Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) maintains its blue alert status following the upcoming landfall of typhoon Tisoy. Said attention level entails the agency’s greater coordination with concerned local government units.

The NDRRMC informed that nearly 3,000 residents have been evacuated from places that will directly face the wrath of Tisoy, particularly in Region V. There were also evacuees from Masbate, Northern Samar, and Leyte. The disaster alleviating arm, as practice of its foresight, urges the dwellers in the eastern seaboard, and landslide and flood-prone areas to undertake preemptive evacuation. It was also mentioned that there are approximately 3,000 stranded individuals in sea ports.

The NDRRMC guaranteed that its staffers are on their toes for the typhoon. The availability of relief goods, further, is already sealed. It stated that it has been ready for Tisoy since last week.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is also on the watch for adversities following the upcoming onslaught of the typhoon. It stated that its disaster risk respond is already on. The police force also expressed that some of the competitions of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, especially the outdoor ones, may be deferred. The PNP guaranteed the safety of the athletes.

The police force urges the public to follow the directives of the local government units for everyone’s safety.
