Signal No. 1 raised in Northern Luzon as TD ‘Odette’ enters PH: PAGASA

MANILA— Most parts of Luzon will experience rains with strong winds as Tropical Depression “Odette” has maintained its strength as it moves towards Cagayan-Isabela area Thursday, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its 8 a.m. severe weather bulletin, PAGASA said “Odette”  was estimated at 655 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center with gusty winds of up to 65 kph. It is forecast to move west at 26 kph.

Signal No. 1 was hoisted over the provinces of Cagayan Valley, including Babuyan Group of Islands, Isabela, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur.

These areas will experience rains with strong winds with possible scattered lightning that may cause floods/landslides.

Visayas, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with moderate rains. Mindanao will have cloudy skies apart from isolated rainshowers mostly due to localized thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds and occasional heavy rains. (Lily Ramos/PNA)
