Palace: PH has enough funds amid lifting of ban on loans and grants agreements

Malacañang has clarified the decision of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to lift the ban on all loans and grant agreements with countries that voted for the United Nations (UN) resolution against the Philippines.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said this is timely, “perhaps there is now a reason to change it”. The move made by the government back then was an outrage reaction which has already passed.

Panelo also explained that the lifting of the ban does not necessarily mean that the government has deficiency in funds.

“I think we have enough funds otherwise the President would have said that we need to get some more funds,” Panelo added. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
