NBI remains on-call to aid the public

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) remains on-call to attend to the public’s needs in spite of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

NBI OIC Eric Distor said, “Our priority/focus is on anti-overpricing and anti-hoarding. Online sellers of COVID preventive items without permit and overpriced will be investigated and held liable. Authors of fake news will likewise be investigated and arrested.”

The agency is now working with a skeletal force and focusing on unscrupulous traders taking advantage of consumers by overpricing and hoarding items. Online sellers without permits will be held responsible.

The NBI will also pursue those who propagate wrong information and fake news. The agency urges the public to report such incidents to their office.

“NBI still accepts complaints and conducts raids and arrest criminals and will continue this across the country or nationwide.” NBI OIC Distor stated.

The NBI has reminded the public to verify any received information online to avoid panic and confusion especially in this time of crisis.
