OWWA helps stranded OFWs in Metro Manila

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) will help 4,000 to 5,000 stranded Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to return to their respective provinces.

The OFWs are stranded in Metro Manila due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine.

According to OWWA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac, the OWWA has coordinated with the Department of Transportation (DoTr) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to provide transportation to the OFWs going to their provinces.

OWWA has continuously distributed food to the stranded OFWs, who are mostly seafarers.

The agency has helped 6,000 OFWs from the start of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak.
