The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is now coordinating with the Philippine National Police (PNP) regarding the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) workers nabbed recently for operating amid the implementation of enhanced community quarantine.
BI Spokesperson Dana Sandoval said they are in the process of looking for the records of the individuals to determine “appropriate deportation cases” that may be filed against them. The immigration office has been identifying the possible cohorts of the foreign nationals who may be involved in the same illegal activities.
Last Friday, 49 Chinese nationals and nine Filipinos were nabbed in an unregistered POGO hub in Paraῆaque City. Cash amounting to Php 1.3 million, five pistols, 36 laptops, and 17 desk computers were seized.
The bureau vowed the foreign nationals will not get away with their violation and may also face deportation. Charges have been filed including illegal possession of firearms and breach of guidelines under the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act. – Report from Kenneth Paciente
