NEDA Calabarzon joins nationwide drive to end poverty

IMUS CITY, Cavite – The National Economic Development Authority (NEDA)-Calabarzon regional office is joining the country’s celebration of the National Week for Overcoming Poverty from Oct. 17 to 23 with theme, “Answering the Call to End Poverty: A Path Toward Peaceful and Inclusive Societies.”

NEDA Calabarzon Regional Director Luis G. Banua on Thursday said that part of the highlights is the weeklong survey which runs until Oct. 23 in support to the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) campaign “Kilos Sambayanan Laban sa Kahirapan!”

Banua said the online survey encourages netizens and the region’s inhabitants to propose suggestions to fight poverty in the Calabarzon region which groups Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon, and in the country in general.

The simple online survey asks respondents their views and suggestions, their memorable experience, observations, proposed plan of action and their personal commitment to end poverty in the region.

The survey can be accessed through NEDA Calabarzon’s website.

According to Banua, NEDA-Calabarzon will collate and review the survey response.

The NEDA regional office also coordinates with the Calabarzon Regional Development Council in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of appropriate plans, policies, programs and projects to curb the incidence of extreme poverty in the region (PNA).
