Malacañang assures the Filipinos’ health comes first

Malacañang reiterated that the government’s priority is the health of every Filipino amid the ongoing fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Roy Cimatu will temporarily stay in Cebu City to personally oversee the pandemic situation in the area.

(He was given the capability to discharge all powers of the President for his given mandate. Now, the IATF has issued a resolution sending and giving Sec. Cimatu powers to do everything necessary within one week.)”

Meanwhile, Secretary Roque admitted that public transportation is one of the problems Filipinos are currently facing. He denied criticisms that the government is favoring private vehicles and that steps are being done to ease the burdens of commuters. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
