Magalong to aid contact tracing efforts in Cebu City

Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong has arrived in Cebu City to assist in the city’s contact tracing efforts amid the high incidence of COVID-19 cases
Magalong said he will stay in the area for three days to help in the contact tracing training of police and military personnel in Central Visayas. He reiterated the enhancement of contact tracing is one of the measures to prevent further increase in cases.

“Hindi lahat ng interview kayang gawing ng ating nurses at doctors. In most cases actually sa siyudad ng Baguio, karamihan ng actual interview ginagawa ng kapulisan because of their cognitive skill training (Not all interviews can be conducted by nurses and doctors. In most cases in Baguio City, most actual interviews are done by police due to their cognitive skill training),” Magalong explained.

Meanwhile, Secretary Roy Cimatu reported that the implementation of ECQ in the city has improved amid the continuous rise in the number of cases. He hopes that the ECQ will be lifted after July 15 but emphasized that granular lockdown will be imposed in barangays with many COVID-19 cases if the quarantine classification of the city will be downgraded.
