Roque gives 9 over 10 rate for 5th SONA

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque has given the fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte a grade of 9 out of 10.

Although the President’s plans and programs were laid out well, Roque believes the speech took time.

“Well, sa akin naman po, siguro iyong sa pagsulat ng speech, number one, mahaba, one hour and 40. Eh mayroon na pong pre-SONA (For me, as for the writing of the speech, number one, it was long that it took one hour and 40 [minutes]. There was a pre-SONA),” Roque observed.

“Iyong mga quotable quotes, kung ako ang nagsulat diyan, mas marami akong ilalagay na quotable quotes sa simula at ending ng speech. (As for the quotable quotes, if I were the one to write, I would put more at the beginning and ending of the speech),” he added.

Meanwhile, Sec. Roque said people have their own views regarding the SONA amid claims that the content of the speech is not enough. He reiterated that there have already been pre-SONA forums prior to Monday’s speech where economic managers laid out accomplishments of the government to address COVID-19 and the needs of other sectors of society. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
