PNP supports death penalty revival in the PH

The Philippine National Police (PNP) supports the campaign in the Congress for the revival of death penalty in the Philippines.

In the first six months of 2020, around Php 11 billion worth of illegal drugs were confiscated by the police. The figure is enough basis for PNP Chief Police General Archie Gamboa to attest to the severity of the drug problem in the country.

The PNP Chief believes that the death penalty will greatly help in addressing the problem of illegal drugs. He added that foreign drug lords are taking advantage in running drug trades in the country with the absence of the death penalty.

According to PGen. Gamboa, the death penalty must be imposed to drug offenders caught with 50 grams or more. – Report from Bea Bernardo
