Senators push for the suspension of PhilHealth officials during probe

Several senators suggest the suspension of PhilHealth officials while the Senate and other agencies are conducting an investigation on the anomalies in PhilHealth.

According to Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, even the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is having a hard time acquiring documents from PhilHealth since those being investigated are still holding office.

He added that PhilHealth President and CEO Ricardo Morales must file a leave of absence especially due to his health.

“We would insist, we would actually push for the suspension of all these officers para naman ay mapabilis ang pagkuha ng mga dokumento at mapabilis ang imbestigasyon at resulta ng imbestigasyon ng katiwalaan na nangyayri sa Philhealth. (We would insist, we would actually push for the suspension of all these officers so that acquiring of documents will be faster and this will speed up the investigation on the anomalies and its result.)”
