Upper House resolution calls for preventive suspension of PhilHealth officials

The Upper Chamber has approved Senate Resolution No. 502 or the resolution calling on the Office of the President to immediately implement a preventive suspension of the PhilHealth officials involved in the anomalies inside the agency.

According to Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, the resolution aims to avoid any interference in the probe by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Commission on Audit (COA) and the Office of the Ombudsman. If the officials allegedly involved in irregularities stay in their position, they might hide, change or sabotage important documents that can affect the ongoing investigation. – PTV News
