DBM submits proposed P4.5T National Budget to Congress

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has submitted the proposed Php 4.506 trillion National Budget to Congress for 2021.

Next year’s allocation prioritizes the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) response of the government to strengthen the health care system of the Philippines, assure food security, create more jobs and aid in the recovery of the country’s economy.

This is 9% higher compared to the 2020 General Appropriations of Php 4.1 trillion. The largest allocation will go to the Department of Education (DepEd) with a fund of Php 754.4 billion.

Congress eyes the end of September to complete the deliberation of the proposed budget.
