Roosevelt Station in LRT-1 to stop operations until December

The Roosevelt Station in LRT-1 will stop its operations starting Saturday, September 5 until December 28 to give way for the construction of the Common station.

The Common station is being built between EDSA and North Avenue and will connect the 4 lines of the LRT-1, MRT-3, MRT-7, and the Metro Manila Subway Project.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has assured that it will provide a bus augmentation as the station closes. The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) has also put measures in place in anticipation of the expected overcrowding of passengers at the Baliwantak Station.

“Naglipat po kami ng ibang mga staff o nag-assign para makatulong po sa crowd management at ‘yung mga additional na pasahero na pwedeng doon sumakay galing sa Roosevelt. (We have relocated other staff and assigned some of them to help in crowd management.)” LRMC Spokesperson Jacqueline Gorospe has stated.

The completion of the Common Station is currently at 42% and is expected to be finished by December 2021.
