Meralco cuts September charges

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) will implement a reduction in its rate for the month of September.

The rate will have a deduction of Php 0.062 per kilowatt hour which means that the charge will be P12 less for households consuming 200 kWh, P19 less for households consuming 300 kWh, P25 for 400 kWh, and P31 for those who consume 500 kWh.

Meralco has pointed out that the generation charge has been reduced due to the low electricity demand in Luzon caused by the relaxed community quarantine that paved the way to push for the force majeure in the power supply agreement of suppliers.

This is the 5th consecutive month that a deduction has been made in the bill by the electric company. – Report from Cleizl Pardilla
