Travel authority required for Tagaytay tourists from GCQ areas – Eleazar

Joint Task Force COVID Shield Commander PLt.Gen. Guillermo Eleazar clarified on Thursday the travel guidelines to Tagaytay City after the popular destination opened its doors to tourists.

Eleazar explained that a travel authority is required for individuals headed for Tagaytay especially those coming from areas under GCQ like the National Capital Region (NCR) or vice versa, especially those who want to spend their vacation in the city. MGCQ to MGCQ trips will no longer require one. Ordinances of local government units will also be observed regarding the matter.

Local Chief Executives currently have the discretion on whether or not to require travel passes when their areas are placed under MGCQ.

Tagaytay City Acting Chief of Police Maj. Juan Penafiel Oruga Jr. said that the boundary control points in Cavite are assigned to determine if visitors have travel authorities. There is still police visibility in the city and business establishments are being inspected. – Report from Bernard Jaudian Jr.
