5 Manila barangay officials suspended for alleged irregularities

5 barangay officials in the City of Manila have been suspended for their involvement in corruption.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has immediately implemented the suspension order from the Office of the Ombudsman against the corrupt barangay chairpersons with violations ranging from grave misconduct, serious dishonesty, to abuse of authority. The officials are suspended for 6 months without pay.

The 5 barangay chairpersons are Mario Banal of Barangay 123, Leonard Recto of Barangay 11, Romeo Garcia of Barangay 449, Jonas Bartolome of Barangay 418, and Niño Anthony Magno of Barangay 283.

The first ranking barangay councilors will substitute for the suspended barangay chiefs.
