Sec. Villar has PRRD’s ‘full trust and confidence’ – Roque

Amid the rampant corruption within the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque affirmed on Thursday that President Rodrigo Duterte still has the “full trust and confidence po kay Sec. (Mark) Villar dahil despite the corruption in the DPWH, naka-deliver po si Sec. Villar (full trust and confidence in Sec. Villar because he still delivers despite the corruption in DPWH).”

“It helps na mas maraming pera ang pamilya ni Sec. Villar kaysa sa DPWH (It helps that the family of Sen. Villar has more money than the DPWH),” Roque quipped.

A possible investigation may soon be initiated on the alleged fraudulence within the DPWH as the government is currently focusing on embattled PhilHealth.

Meanwhile, Roque clarified that his recent statement addressed to the OCTA Research Group to privately communicate its quarantine classification recommendations to concerned authorities is merely an appeal.

“Tanging Presidente lang naman po ang may kapangyarihang mag-impose ng quarantine… Hindi ko po sila sinusupil. Salamat nga po sa kanilang mga ginagawa (It is only the President who can impose quarantine…I am not suppressing them. I am actually thankful for their contribution),” Roque said. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
