Metro Manila mayors have made it clear that minors will not be allowed to carol during the Christmas season amid government restrictions to prevent (coronavirus disease) COVID-19 transmission.
Metro Manila Council (MMC) Chairperson and Paraῆaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez explained that the prohibition is in accordance with the new age guideline of persons allowed to go out which is 18 to 65 years-old.
Authorities have also temporarily suspended the loud playing of Christmas songs and use of karaoke and videoke at night. Online or virtual Christmas parties are encouraged. Christmas reunions are limited to 10 persons.
Meanwhile, MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said on Tuesday at the Laging Handa public briefing that curfew hours may be eased to 12 to 3 a.m. in December to give way to midnight masses. – PTV News
