Status of DA First Border Inspection Facility or Agricultural Commodity Examination Area (ACEA) Project, as per Dir. Ronnie Domingo of the DA’s Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI)

DA PR

For fiscal year 2020, the ACEA project has a budget of P521,574,000 for the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT), at South Harbor, Port of Manila.

Four other ACEAs will be established at the Cebu International Port; and Ports of Batangas, Subic, and Davao.

Since early 2020, the DA has been coordinating with the Department of Transportation-Philippine Ports Authority (DOTr-PPA) to establish and integrate the country’s first ACEA facility in the current port and quarantine operations.

However, the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the DA-BAI and MICT, which will commence the facility’s leasing and construction, has yet to be approved by the PPA.
