Caloocan drug haul yields P174-M shabu

Police confiscated 25.7 kilograms of Shabu from two brothers, while a younger minor sibling believed being utilized by the suspects in drug trafficking activities was rescued in another successful anti-illegal drugs operation in Caloocan City this morning.

PNP Chief , Police General Debold M Sinas, expressed satisfaction over the successful result of this morning’s operation. At the same time, he instructed the District Directors of the five Police Districts of Metro Manila thru NCRPO Chief, Police Brig Gen Vicente Danao Jr. to mount more aggressive and intensified anti-illegal drugs operations against known drug personalities.

Reports reaching the Chief PNP disclosed that operatives of the Caloocan City Drug Enforcement Unit under Police Captain Deo Cabildo in coordination with PDEA NCR Regional Office, confiscated a stash of 25.7 kilograms of Shabu from brothers KALIF LATIF, 24, and AKISAH LATIF, 18, in a drug buy-bust operation at 7:30AM today at Block 30, Lot 17, Phase 12, Brgy. 188, Tala, Caloocan City.

According to Caloocan City Police Chief, Police Colonel Samuel Mina, the elder Latif is listed in the BADAC watchlist of known drug personalities in Caloocan City, and is apparently running his drug trafficking activities with his two younger brothers.

A younger sibling (True Name Withheld), aged 14, was rescued by arresting officers during the operation.

Mina said the 25.7 kilograms of Shabu confiscated from the suspects were contained in 44 transparent plastic bags of different sizes and were packed inside Chinese Tea packaging labelled “Qing Shan”. The contraband is worth P174.76-million in the streets based on standard DDB estimates, Mina said.

Both suspects will undergo inquest proceedings, while the rescued minor will be endorsed to the City Social Welfare and Development Office. – PNP News Brief
